12 weeks and Counting

Update to our lives...Today I had my first appointment and I am 12 weeks and 5 days according to my menstrual cycle. We did an ultrasound and got to hear the heart beat :) Because the picture was not real clear I was measuring about 10 weeks 6 days to 11 weeks 4 days. I am having another ultrasound at 20 weeks to find out what we are having and to get a more accurate due date because my menstrual cycle is not regular. For now my doctor said he is sticking with the Jan 28th due date because I knew the first day of my last period. Kamryn and Kris got to see the ultrasound and Kamryn really enjoyed it :) The down side to the appointment was having to get my blood drawn...7 tubes...talk about making someone sick. I survived though :)

This week my Kristopher has been at church camp. I was really concerned sending him up there since he does not do well staying away from home...eventually he has to get used to it and camp is perfect for that. Around 8 on Sunday night I got a phone call from him bawling saying that he missed me :( Of course this put me over the edge and I was in tears later that night...lol...dang pregnancy hormones. I have not heard from him since then so I am assuming he is doing good. I can't wait for him to get home and I can hear all about camp :) Only 3 more days :)

Kamryn leaves for camp on the 24th and comes back on the 28th. Not as long as Kristopher but still 5 days. I know Kamryn will be ok, he likes staying away from home when he gets to go by himself. I am still sad though, I don't like having my kids that far away for a long period of time :( Although I am sad he is excited :) I know he will have a good time.

Once the boys are back from camp we are taking a family trip (3 days) to Cannon Beach...our little vacation for the summer. I can't wait to get out of town and spend some much needed time with my boys...on the beach!!

Morning Sickness Scare

This week I babysat my nieces and nephews because their babysitter was on vacation. Talk about tiring. Everyday around 2 I would get tired due to the pregnancy and then I would stay up til 11 even though I would go to bed before that and have to get up at 7. I forgot what being pregnant was like :) Now I am looking forward to getting to sleep in and getting some stuff done around the house.

Michael is here for a week and he is having fun...I think...lol. He is taller than I am, can't believe he will be 15 in Dec! Where does the time go. I took the boys to dinner last night and then went to meet Kris and get fireworks...2 more days :) After leaving the restaurant I felt kind of weird. All of a sudden I had a strong urge to throw up so all I could do was cover my mouth and breathe deep. This happened about 10 times on the way to Kris' work. I had Kris get me a sprite when he got off work to see if it would help and my first thought was so this is what morning sickness feels like. I was not ok with the fact that it was going to be that but also because I did not have it with any of my other kids.

While waiting for Kris I called Mom. I told her we had Chinese food for dinner and that after I felt like I was going to be sick. She said it could be a combination of the heat and salt or too much MSG. Thankfully, after drinking the sprite I felt better and I have not felt sick since then. I believe it was not morning sickness but if for some reason I feel sick again tonight....then I will start to believe that it is the dreaded morning sickness. There's a first time for everything...

Days gone by

School is out and the heat has finally (somewhat) arrived. The boys are glad to be out of school for a few months and they are enjoying lazing around. Kristopher spends most of his day fishing in the creek and Kamryn prefers to stay inside thinking he gets to play video games all day :)

Baseball season is over, the boys had a great time. Kamryn's team took 3rd in the tournament and Kristopher's team took 2nd. Next year Kristopher has said he wants to play baseball but also wants to do BMX racing. Kamryn just loves to play all sports. This baseball season was usually cold and wet. I think we had maybe 2 games where it was warm and the sun was shining. Although it was fun watching the boys play, I am glad the season is over. It was hard trying to get them to practices and games at two different spots maybe 30 minutes apart.

Kris is still working at Home Depot and is still enjoying it. He would like to have a different schedule but he is such a good worker on the shift he is on they won't let him have a different one..lol. Numerous people have told him to slack off just enough to get it changed and then go back to the way he is now :) He wouldn't go for it...lol.

Some of you may know that Kris and I have been trying to get pregnant for over two years. Well, about a week ago I found out that we are expecting!! So exciting, THANK YOU GOD!!! Just need to be patient and trust in Him! So now we are hoping for a girl :) Yes, I love my boys and wouldn't trade them for the world but Kris wants and girl and I wouldn't be so out numbered in the house if we have a girl. If it is a boy...well, he will fit right in :D Kamryn is excited and doesn't care what we have and Kristopher just doesn't really care...lol. Typical boy :) My due date is set for January 28th and my first doctors appointment is July 20th. For those of you who are probably gonna ask, yes we are finding out the sex of the baby. There is no way either of us can wait 9 months...unless God plans it that way :)

I thankfully do not get morning sickness and have not yet had it with this pregnancy...I am 9 weeks today. But wouldn't ya know, I got my summer cold and of course it is while I am pregnant and VERY limited on what I can take for it. My allergies also decided to kick in the week I found out and I was under the impression I couldn't take anything for them :( I called my doctors nurse and sure enough I can take Claritin and Zyrtec so now my allergies are under control. As for the cold, I am on day 4 and I think I might actually get some sleep tonight :) I am allowed to take Robitussin DM and I have been taking advantage of that...but...it only lasts for 4 hours. It takes about an hour for it to really start working and then it only lasts for 3...talk about rough nights.

That's all the news I have for now. Hopefully I will blog about the baby if I can remember with my pregnancy brain...

Baseball Injuries

Today marks the first baseball injury in the family...with the boys. At school Kamryn was jumping on bleachers and fell and hit his shin. When he got home he was laughing and showing it to me but didn't tell me it was from jumping on the bleachers.

Later, at baseball practice, they were playing a game for practice and Kamryn took two baseballs to the same shin in the same spot! What are the odds of that happening. He didn't come to right away so I didn't find out about it until practice was over. He came limping to the car tears streaming down his face. I asked him what happened and he told me and that he heard a crack when the second ball hit his shin. We left practice and went to get Kristopher in Adams then headed to Walla Walla.

We got in the ER pretty fast and the doctor wanted to do xrays. The results came back and he has a tibia contusion. Thankfully it isn't broken but a little embarrassed that I took him in for that. He will be sore for awhile.

He just got over being afraid of the ball and doing a good job catching it...I wonder how far it will set him back...

What is going on...

There is much discussion all over the place about Osama Bin Laden. I have a few things to say about it and not because I think I am right but because this is how I feel :)

First, thank God they caught him. I know that sounds harsh but he had to pay the punishment for his crime. He was on the run and because the severity of his crime the decison was made to shoot when they saw him. Now, if you think about other criminals they may not be shot when they are found but they are locked up and they have to face the punishment for their crimes. Is Osama any diffferent that people would call it revenge when we get the person we are after? We cannot just forget something that big and give him a slap on the wrist and say "no, no". I understand that some people are choosing to treat it as revenge and that everything is going to be hunkydory now. That is so not the case...

Justice was given here people. He was killed for the death of thousands of people. Sure, we could have locked him away forever, which I believe was the plan at the start, but when you run and are still threatening then you should be stopped in any way possible.

We need to pray now more than ever for ourselves and for the WORLD!! Just because Osama is dead does not mean our troops get to come home, or we are safe, or no more death...RETALIATION people!! He may not be as big as some of the others out there now that we have chased him for years but, other enemies have developed and they will take advantage of the fact the we are so caught up in the Osama death and they will attack when we are not looking.

There is no right or wrong answer or belief when it comes to the death of O.B.L. and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. We do however need to remember that GOD is in control but we need to be on our KNEES begging for mercy. We do not need to turn against each other because we have different ideas, we need to stick together because we are Christians! In the end, we are all going to the same place to be with our heavenly Father!

Dear Father, be with your children now as they face what is to come. Give us strength and courage to stand tall when the time comes and to remember to love everyone. In Jesus name, AMEN!

What's the word...

Since the last time I posted the boys started baseball, I am almost done with school for the term and Kris is still working :)

The weather has been good off and on, more off than on. Thankfully for Easter was good weather. Rachelle and I hid 352 plastic eggs for the kids to find! We had more fun hiding the eggs than the kids did finding them :) The backyard is like a jungle so it took them awhile to find the ones just in the grass. We counted the eggs once they were done and found out that there were 10 missing. Sometime when Kris mows the lawn I am sure we will find the missing 10 :)

I made a turkey with all the fixins for Easter dinner and had My sister and her precious kids over as well as Mom and Bob! It was a GREAT day! Before all of the fun at home we got to see an AWESOME skit at church about the Resurrection! Marc Calvert did a great job writing/putting it together as well as the cast members. Took lots of pictures, they can be seen on my facebook page :)

The boys have been playing baseball and are having a blast! Kamryn is getting the hang of catching, at his last game he caught a ball at third and got a kid out! I missed it but heard about it when I got there. Kristopher is doing great for his first year playing and on majors! He can throw the ball from clear out in right field to third base! Everyone is impressed with his arm! I am glad they are enjoying baseball but getting them to two opposite places has been a bit stressful...lol.

Kris is still working at Home Depot and enjoying it. He can't wait for the weather to warm up, he is sick of the random snow showers we have been getting. :) I am almost done with school until September! I have class this week and then I am done! I am glad to be done for awhile, I forgot how tough school is :) I think it is more so all the papers I have to write.

That's it for now, I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Baseball and such :)

Exciting news!! Kristopher made majors!! WOOOHOOO!! WTG Kristmies! He made the team for two reasons, one because he is 12 and two because he played really well. He will be so excited when I tell him. The coach must have gotten the last two numbers of my cell phone mixed up with a friend of mine because he called her instead. So glad that it was her, imagine if it was someone else, I would not have gotten the message. The first team meeting is this Friday and then practice starts the Monday after spring break. I am really looking forward to Kristopher playing baseball, maybe he will be pitcher...I think I am more excited than he will be :)

Kamryn is playing baseball too although he did not have to tryout because he will be in minors. This is because he is only 10 and this is his first year playing. I am not sure Kamryn is going to like baseball he is more of a football/basketball/soccer kind of kid. If soccer isn't the same time as baseball, I will see if he wants to play that. I know he will do good at baseball but I don't think he will like it as much as the other sports he plays. So excited to see both of them play :)

I am in the middle of my 4th week of school, so far so good. Got my first paper back and did not do as well as I thought I would, darn APA format! Thankfully, we get one rewrite which I will be taking advantage of. Kind of discouraging but it keeps me on my toes. I have another paper due Friday, hopefully I do not procrastinate like I did the first one.

Kris hit his one year mark at Home Depot on March 3rd!! SOOOOOO proud of him. He loves his job although he would like different hours :) He is looking forward to the warm weather, if it will ever get here. There is so much he wants to do around the house but it is still a little too cold. We are going to try and make it to the coast during spring break but we will see.

Hope everyone is enjoying life and slowing down to smell the roses. We never know how much time we have so take the time to take in your surroundings. I was reading on KLOVE's website the other day and was reminded that we need to spend time with our children while they are young...the dishes, laundry, etc. will be there tomorrow...until then, I will go play catch with the boys!

Saturday Morning

Today it is foggy and cold outside, what happened to the warm weather we have been having? Everyday except today we have woken up to snow but it melts by the afternoon. I am sooo ready for spring!

The boys have been antsy wanting to do something so Kristopher and Michael have been oustide making movies on the ipod...lol. Pretty creative. Kamryn is not a cold weather person so he is inside watching tv.

Monday is the start of school for me, I am nervous and excited! I have to meet with my class on the computer twice a week on video. It's a new experience. Thankfully I had the opportunity to do an orientation to see how it all works and now I am ready for my classes. I will be graduating with my Masters of Arts in Teaching in May next year!

Monday also happens to be my birthday...did you all know if you have Monday off it is because of me :) Ok, ok not really but it was worth a shot! Enjoy your three day weekend and hopefully the sun will shine...

Back to School!

I know, I know, back to school happens in August/September but this is me not the kids :) I got accepted into the Masters of Arts and Teaching program at University of Southern California. EXCITING!!! I am nervous and a little concerned about getting everything done that I need to before I start class on Monday!

I have filled out all the paper work, set up my e-mail account, talked to numerous people about those things not working, signed more papers, registered for classes...thought that was never going to happen with all the problems I have been having :) Now I am waiting for another phone call from one of my many advisors to talk about registration. I am so nervous about starting on Monday because that's only 1, 2, 3, 4 days away!! To top it off it's supposed to be a holiday but 2 of my 3 classes are meeting that day and it's my birthday...happy birthday to me!

This is not typical online classes where you go in at your own time I have set times I have to be online! Oh man, it's almost like being on campus again. A little thought that just went through my mind, why do online courses say work at your own pace? Every online course I have ever taken there have been deadlines for every assignment, test, reading, etc. So, is it really at your own pace? I think not. I like the idea of a schedule for online because then I know I have to be in class and I won't, hopefully, procrastinate :) but you all know me, the queen of procrastination!! Oh what a journey I have ahead of me!!

A beautiful day for...cleaning?

My intentions today were to go back to my sisters house and help her finish cleaning. I came home from church and decided to help the boys clean their room. For the past 2 hours I have been in there cleaning, thankfully we got it done.

It amazes me the things my boys think they need to keep. In the toy box was trash, dirty clothes and broken toys. We cleaned it out and it is only about a quarter of what it was. I help Kamryn make his bed and under the bed there was More trash, dirty clothes and some not so pleasant stuff...lol.

Now the room is clean and I will be heading to Rachelle's to help her clean in a little while. Maybe after this weekend I won't have to do any heavy cleaning for awhile...

It's been awhile...

I have not been on here in a long time mainly because I keep forgetting about it :) Since my last blog a lot has happened. I started the teaching job only to lose it in November because my teaching license was denied. I was devastated and have been waiting since then to get a notice of hearing in the mail just to send a letter back saying I want a hearing. FINALLY the letter came in on Friday so I wrote the letter and sent it off. Now I have to wait for a hearing date. In the time of not working, we got to spend Christmas with My Dad, Step-Mom, and Step-Brother and got to see Sean, that was a blast. After that I decided to look into getting my Masters in teaching which I would have had to get within 3 years if I was still teaching. Since January I have been getting things done to get into school. It is an online school BUT they are just as strict about getting in as a graduate on-campus school. Today, I got an e-mail from the school and I have been accepted!! I have my Bachelors in Music and I was planning on getting my Masters in Teaching to teach music. Last week I got a call before I was accepted and was told that my undergrad grades in science and social science classes were not good enough for an elementary ed degree so that looked at my transcripts and said my English grades were outstanding and my writing is amazing so that would like me in the English program. This will allow me to teach English to 7-12 grades. So now my course has changed and I am starting a new adventure! When I think about taking all the tests at the end of grad school for music I freak out and worry about how I am going to remember everything I learned let alone "listen to this song and tell who is the composer and the name of the song." I can't remember "old" songs for the life of me. When I accepted the change for my degree I was thinking about it and I feel 100 % comfortable testing in English. I really enjoyed the English classes I took for my Bachelors so much that I took ALL the English classes offered :) New adventures here I come!!! I start classes, how convenient, on the 21st which happens to also be my birthday!!

Kris is still working at Home Depot and is about to come up on his 1 year! March 3rd he will have been there for a year. I am so proud of him! He has gotten associate of the month twice, once in August and again in October. He found out from co-workers that he has been nominated every month but because of policy he can't get it more than every other month, lol. His hard work will pay off before we know it and who knows where that will take him :)

Kristopher and Kamryn both played football this fall and Kamryn is currently playing basketball. I signed them both up for baseball in the spring, this is the first year either of them have played. Kamryn excels at most sports he plays so it will be no surprise if he does well at baseball. Kristopher is yet to find his sport although I believe that baseball will be it! He is left handed so we are hoping for pitcher :) They are doing really good and both growing so fast, before I know it they will both be in high school.

On another note, while I was getting ready to write I was thinking that my blogs didn't need to be just about how things are going in life so I need to change them up. I have decided to write about anything and everything that comes to mind, which I do believe I was doing in the beginning. My next blog will be about anything but the family :) Stay tuned.....
